It seems that it's just the time of year for kick outs and abandonments at the moment. Many of these dogs end up suffering with behavioural issues that often lead to the worst for of aggression..... fear aggression.
I will get round to telling the stories of so many of our new arrivals at some point I'm sure, but today in the sunshine one of the highlights of Rich and my day had to be the glimmer of hope that just maybe Keene was beginning to make a bond.....
We had a great night on Saturday at the Shoulder of Mutton, and I'd personally like to thank everyone who supported the event. Special thanks of course to everyone involved organising it, and to Carol and the bar staff for being such fantastic hosts.

Keene is still doing well. I'm learning more about him every time I see him, and I'd like to think he's learning about me too.
He's still a one for carrying his one lead, which he tries to turn into a game of tug everytime something alerts those hyper sensitive senses of his, but that's OK I've bought him his own wire lead.....
Tia is a 7 year old German Shepherd who is looking for a home. She is a gentle soul, little nervous at first but incredibly loving once she's relaxed. She walks well on lead and travels well in the car. She could live with another calm dog, possibly not a bitch.
She is a general all round happy girl who would love to find her person....and would blossom in the right home. We advise no cats or children under 10.
For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or to apply. Rehoming fee applies.
Continuing on the story of Keene, there was a big stride taken today as we went for a walk on a normal lead. Although he was a bit mischievous trying to tug it, we both enjoyed the relaxed approach rather than the rigid lead.....
