New Year, New Dogs Looking For A Forever Foster Home.....

Tara.
Tara is a 5 year old, very petite, neutered female Rottie – ideal for someone who loves the breed but can`t manage a large dog.  She shares her kennel with her long-term mate and has socialised well with other dogs whilst in kennels.
She is a timid little girl, very hand-shy but really does want to join in with the fun. She needs an adult home where people will give her the space to develop at her own speed and give her lots of encouragement to rebuild her confidence.  She would do better with another dog for security – a nice, steady boy like the one she has now would be ideal!

Could you could help Tara rediscover the fun in life? Contact foreverfoster@shak.org.uk

Denbar.
Denbar is a 9 year old Rottie cross. He is the most delightful  gentleman you could hope to meet – always greets you with his kind and gentle smile but certainly still has plenty of bounce if there`s a walk or a game on offer.  He is very popular here –  reliable, calm and friendly  but with a cheeky sparkle in his eye.  He is good with dogs, too and has lived happily with little Tara for a long time and played with other kennel dogs really nicely.
He is so deserving of a kind, loving  home for his retirement years and has lots of  affection, companionship and fun to offer in return.  Do you have a space by your fire for this lovely boy?
If so, please contact : foreverfoster@shak.org.uk

Sally.
Sally is a very sweet American Bulldog, approx. 2 yrs old, possibly younger, who came into kennels just the week before Christmas.  She was frightened and bewildered and spent the first 3 days shaking in her kennel.
She has now become more secure and confident, greets everybody with a friendly wag and loves her cuddles.  She walks nicely on a lead and doesn`t react to the other dogs barking around her. She has walked with other dogs and enjoys a game of fetch.
We are keen for Sally to find a home as soon as possible as dogs like her with a quiet, gentle nature generally don`t enjoy noisy kennel life very much.  We don`t know if she`s lived with children but, just due to her size, we think only older children would be suitable. She really just needs to be someone`s treasured pet! Contact foreverfoster@shak.org.uk
Lola.
Lola is a 4 year-old Shepherd / Husky cross – incredibly beautiful and super-intelligent.  She even behaves like a lady in kennels, being one of the few dogs to remain immaculately clean whatever the conditions. She is calm and quiet, always giving the impression of being rather above the noise and fuss.
She is hugely affectionate and very attentive, always watching and learning and keen for her turn for company and attention. Whilst she has lived with another dog in kennels, she does tend to become competitive so we think she`ll be best as the only dog in the house though she`ll walk happily alongside other dogs and can be quite playful.
She needs an adult home with people who have the interest in working with a very bright dog and who will take pleasure from her intelligence and desire to please.  Although she`s very loving, she`ll still need to be given firm boundaries so that she understands who`s in charge and she can just relax into being the wonderful pet dog she was meant to be! Gemma.
Gemma is a 4-5 year old large and beautiful Rottie girl.  She is very lively and full of fun and friendly with all the people she meets.  She has shared a kennel long-term with a large and bouncy cross-breed male and they have got along very well.  However, she has taken exception to one of the other females in the kennels so, to err on the side of caution, we are recommending rehoming with a male dog only. She also has a strong prey drive, so no companion cats or other small furries for her!
She is a lovely dog with a big heart and, in true Rottie fashion, will do anything you ask for that piece of food! She will need some training but is so clever and willing, she has the potential to be a really special dog. Contact foreverfoster@shak.org.uk
Bouncer.
Bouncer is a 5 year old, medium-sized Mastiff cross with a wonderful happy, affectionate nature.  He is a strong lad and, as his name suggests, is quite energetic and lively.  He loves company, walks and games and is very easy-going and biddable.  He shares his kennel very happily with Gemma (also on the site) and has been relaxed and sociable when walked with other dogs.
We don`t know his history with children but, due to his size and enthusiasm, he needs a home with only older children or adults. He will need regular exercise and some training, though he is so keen to please, he`ll be a quick learner. He`s of an age now that, when he`s given a proper routine and told what`s expected, we think he`ll settle down really well.  He`s a genuinely good-natured boy that thoroughly deserves his own home and family.  Contact foreverfoster@shak.org.uk
Misty.

Rio.
Misty is a lovely, gentle middle-aged girl (about 6 years old ) who has probably been used for breeding. She came in with her handsome young son, Rio who is about 18 months old.  They make a lovely pair, though we do understand that they`ll  probably have to find new homes separetly.
Rio is a typical youngster – plenty of energy and loves to play ball so would be easily trained using toys and fun. Misty is calm and affectionate and very food orientated, so she responds well to food rewards. (She is,however, very chubby at the moment and on a diet.)
Both  these dogs seem to have missed out on the loving care appropriate for their ages and needs and it would be wonderful to see them  safe in a forever home. Contact foreverfoster@shak.org.uk
